About Us

Dr. Ini Okpon & Pastor Blessing Okpon

The vision for the San Jose Church is to have an ultra modern church that benefits America. A church that expands greatly in size, with more pastors under his wings, a school, daycare and rehabilitation center all attached to the church. When asked what his greatest accomplishment was, Reverend Ini’s response was “the people that I see everyday, lives that are changed everyday, and souls that are won to the kingdom of God.”

About Us

Statement of Faith

The Bible is the infallible word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. It contains every answer to man’s needs and problems. 2Peter 1:20-21, Timothy 3:16. One God exists eternally in three persons. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Man is created in the image of God but separated from God by sin. Without Jesus, we cannot have a relationship with God. Genesis 1:26, 1 Timothy 2:5

Church History

The venue for the United States location is 2350 Paragon Drive in San Jose, CA. To date, Mustard Seed San Jose has grown to over eighty (80) members. The size of the church should not be confused with the power of the ministry and the level of anointing that Reverend Ini operates under.

His Call to Ministry

Born into a staunch Roman Catholic family, Reverend Ini Okpon was expected to follow in the footsteps of his parents and remain Catholic. He broke away from the family tradition when he gave his life to the LORD at a very early age. He went forward to the altar during an evangelistic crusade held in the city of Uyo in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria and from that point, his wonderful journey with the LORD began. Shortly after becoming born again, the LORD Jesus Christ appeared to him in his room, telling him of His plans to use him in ministry as a prophet to reach the world.

This encounter with the LORD provided Reverend Ini with the impetus to develop a strong passion for evangelism and he became very active in the pentecostal church despite the hardships and challenges he had to endure. He suffered consistent persecution from his family members. He was eventually beaten in the village square, ostracized by his family for rejecting the family church and had to live with a Christian brother in the church. The challenges faced by Reverend Ini only propelled him further to do the mandate given to him by the father above.

Despite his afflictions, and surviving all odds, Reverend Ini continued to grow stronger in the LORD. He subsequently became a Sunday school teacher, a Cell Group Leader and then the President of the Campus Fellowship when he went to the college. Upon completion of his studies at the Bible College, Reverend Ini was ordained as a minister and was commissioned into full-time ministry.
